Q: What types of problems do you treat?
A: The word treat
implies that we are doing something to our clients. However,
most of the therapeutic work we do is collaborative and addresses
whatever is interfering with a client's well-being. At times, this
means we provide guidance and structured treatment for an emotional
or mental health disorder such as PTSD or Major Depressive Disorder.
For others, we provide a sounding board to work through difficult
life circumstances, such as coping with the death of a loved one or
with the effects of a chronic illness.

Q:
Do you accept clients labeled as
"personality disordered?"
A: Absolutely. We gladly work
with individuals who have a wide range of difficult life
experiences, including those who have been diagnosed with a
personality disorder. Some of the specific areas that we have been of
most help include depression, anxiety, trauma (e.g., PTSD), chronic
pain, and more.

Q:
Will my evaluation be covered by
my insurance?
A: Coverage for any type of
mental health service varies from company to company. With regard to
evaluations, the variation in coverage is even more pronounced.
Evaluations may or may not be covered depending on the purpose of
the evaluation, how the evaluation is conducted, and a number of
other considerations. Please contact your insurance company to learn
what they cover.

Q: Do you provide online counseling?
A: Only to supplement in-person psychotherapy/counseling. Online counseling is very promising but it is
also new and unregulated in many areas. Some things to consider in
evaluating any online counselor are his or her credentials,
encryption technology used to maintain your privacy, the cost, and
the type of training they have had specific to online therapy.
